|
The VetStat analyzer now connects to the IDEXX VetLab® Station (LaserCyte®)
computer—The IDEXX VetLab Station offers an unprecedented level of
information consolidation, including a comprehensive record of each patient’s diagnostic
history, parameter-trending capabilities, interpretive information and helpful video
guides, and all your results on one comprehensive report—to help you make the most
accurate diagnoses and recommend the most effective treatment. See the IDEXX VetLab Station
article on the back page.

2
|
New reporting sequence for all of the VetStat analyzer’s reference ranges—Based
on your feedback, the reporting sequence for reference ranges on the VetStat analyzer has
been changed. Previously, reference ranges were printed from high to low. This software
upgrade changes that sequence to low to high.
|
|
|
|
3
|
New reporting of results that fall outside of the VetStat analyzer’s dynamic range—Previously,
when a test result fell outside of the VetStat analyzer’s dynamic range, the result
displayed as either “high” or “low” on the printed report. Now when a result is outside of
the dynamic range, the printed report indicates the result as
greater than (>) or less than (<) the dynamic range.
|
|
|
|
4
|
New default setting for the type of sample being run—When running a fluid
therapy or respiratory cassette, the VetStat analyzer allows you to select from arterial,
venous or capillary sample types. Since arterial draws are rare, we’ve changed the default
setting to venous. If you are running an arterial sample, simply change the setting when
entering the patient information.
|

New supported languages—The VetStat analyzer now lets you change
the language setting. Supported languages include English, French, Spanish, Italian and
German.

Meet Chris Pendleton
Electrolytes Product Manager
Chris came to IDEXX ten years ago, enticed by the prospect of working at an enterprising biotech
company in his home state of Maine. He started out as a process engineer in clinical chemistry,
where he calibrated VetTest® Chemistry Analyzer slides and was responsible for incoming quality
assurance. He then held other positions, including stints on the VetTest and the SNAP® Reader
product teams and with the Practice Developer™ program. Recently, Chris was promoted to
Electrolytes Product Manager, responsible for development, marketing and overall product quality
for the VetStat® Electrolyte and Blood Gas Analyzer and the VetLyte® Electrolyte Analyzer.
Chris credits IDEXX’s focus on veterinarians and technology as the reason why IDEXX can offer
veterinary practices the best in diagnostics and support. “We have quality top of mind. The
VetStat analyzer is just one example of that. It offers veterinarians immediate access to
accurate fluid therapy information they can trust, which allows them to make treatment decisions
quickly for their critical patients. In addition, it’s easy to use, so there’s minimal training
time involved.”
Chris lives in Maine, and likes to spend his spare time fly-fishing, mountain biking, hiking
and duck hunting (and is looking forward to getting a four-legged duck-hunting companion soon!).
