Yes, the UV Viewer PLUS UV light meets the 365 nm fluorescent wavelength and viewing distance requirements to read all IDEXX fluorescence-based tests.
The UV Viewer PLUS features a plexiglass UV shield located under the viewing port to block the UV light during use. We recommend following your laboratory’s safety protocols and local regulatory guidelines regarding PPE use.

The UV Viewer PLUS is compatible with all IDEXX products that produce a fluorescent signal, including Colilert, Colilert-18, Colisure, Enterolert, Enterolert-E, Pseudalert, HPC for Quanti-Tray, and SimPlate for HPC. The UV Viewer PLUS has only been validated for use with IDEXX tests.
No, the UV Viewer PLUS has UV LED lighting arrays that do not degrade at the same rate as traditional mercury-based UV bulbs. There is no requirement to replace the UV LED lights. If there is a failure with the UV LED lights, the red performance indicator light will illuminate.
The UV Viewer PLUS is 13.3” (33.8 cm) H x 16.0” (40.6 cm) D x 16.0” (40.6 cm) W and weighs 8.5 lbs (3.9 kg).
The UV Viewer PLUS has an internal power supply that can be used globally. Regional plug adaptors are provided based on country-specific requirements.
The UV Viewer PLUS will fit either two Quanti-Tray tests, two Quanti-Tray/2000 tests, four (or more) SimPlate tests, or up to 16 presence/absence tests in 120 mL vessels.
